Easter Parade
Unlike
the other holidays, Easter is a moveable feast, whose parisian model pleased
Ernest Hemingway so much that he ended up naming a book after it. On the other
hand, Christmas appealed to Franz Kafka for its regularity; every 25th of
december, he used to join the rabbi of Prague at home and celebrate with him
the Holy Day properly: cutting one year supply of toilet paper.
We can't be less of that. We would like to celebrate Easter our own way: that's
why we are going to put The Tangueros Quarterly Review's
third issue on line right on April 15.
An Easter egg with a surprise we can take a look at in advance:

Several
readers mailed us about the lecture that Mariachiara Michieli and
Marco Castellani, the NCT Artistic Directors,
gave the last month in Ferrara, asking for comments or at least an explanation
of the title.
Regarding the comments, we send our readers to the well-grounded essay that Juan
Villoro has unconsciously dedicated to the subject on the TQR
n.3 coming out at Easter, and to the long interview with El
Moplo, which will be published on the next july issue.
As far as the title is concerned, it's quickly said: the apt analogy between a
commercial trademark and an inaccurate argentine custom wasn't inspired, as
someone has supposed, by an intuition after the manner of Isidore Ducasse
comte de Lautremont, who was rather an expert in the field of umbrellas,
typewriters and surgical tables, but by a Jorge Luis Borges'
statement, whose modest secret will be disclosed at Easter, in due form.
Our gentle readers shall wait one week more.
Short, as a skinflint's telegram
Changing
of the guard in the Sexteto Canyengue: bandoneonist Rocco
Boness enters in the Peter Reil's place, while Daniel Lehmann
is the new bass player.
The NCT and the TQR staff would like to
warmly welcome the two new musicians of the best Tango band above (and below)
sea-level.
A special big omhelzing to Sanne Van Delft, a peak in Tango
bassism, who has played in the Sexteto for six years and now goes for new
adventures in music.
Thank you Sanne, it was a pleasure for us knowing you and listening to your
larger violin.

The
CD Desde el Andèn by Luis Rizzo, has been
reissued at last.
It is an album which was produced by the italian label Materiali
Sonori in 1993, with the original works for guitar duo by the famous
argentine guitarist and composer.
Against all expectations, the first edition of this peculiar ChamberTango
music sold out in very short time.
Here it is, among us again.

Considering
the big success of the recent concerts of César Stroscio & Trio
Esquina with Gian Matria Testa, it was easy to
assume that the collaboration between Tango and Chanson would have continued.
In fact, there is a talk already about another concert in Rome at half july
and in Chiasso at the end of november.
