The achievement of the Perfect Tango
Starting with the headlines that L'Express has dedicated to the Nueva Compania Tangueros and its cheered performances of Corazon Quebrado at the Neuchatel Festival, we generate this special edition of our monthly Newsletter with the intention of assisting the aficionado in the attainment of the reputed Tango Association's title he became a member of. Thus far, the altruistic proselytism in the organization of courses, bailes, and events, in synergetic conjunction with a weird know-how, has often puzzled, more than helped, the average tanguero. You need brains and not wisdom to weigh the pros and cons of a class of jumps or ganchos provided that you would impose them at the milonga; and willpower rather than taste to embellish your dance with those professorial adornos that the Milonga Ladies from Buenos Aires have long since christened a pito muerto. The following news are just good tips, as they say, whose quality we'd stake our lives on.

We are eagerly looking forward to praise the forthcoming book by photographer Lucia
Baldini. It is her second work about Tango, actually about the
italian milongueros, who have here been credited with a soul, after
the Humboldt manner. The Michela Fregona's fountain pen files
down gently their stories and interplays with the Lucia's beautiful pictures.
The book also contains a full vade-mecum with the not-to-be-missed addresses.

The
Tangueros Quarterly Review
The NCT's
literary journal turns one. Despite the quarter's average of 6.000
readers, no particular celebration is expected. The fifth issue will be
on-line at the end of October and will include, among other items, an Alejandro
Dolina's essay about Art in collaboration, a new chapter of Milongas
for one year, an Osvaldo Pugliese's portrait and the
Jean Fajean's review on Anime Altrove.
A letter
Our
Press Office tries hard to keep each and everyone acquainted with the Nueva
Compania Tangueros numberless activities. Sometimes our releases,
that we enact at a rate of three per year in connection with our tours, happen
to be returned because misaddressed. Nevertheless, this is the first time that
a member of the italian media - namely Radio Città del Capo of
Bologna - is ordering us to cut off all communications.
Here is Director Jean Fajean's answer.
Dear sir,
my name is Jean Fajean: i am Director, under general derision, of the Nueva Compañia Tangueros Press Office in Buenos Aires. Keeping everybody advised, regardless to their whishes, about the activities of one of the major Tango Company in the world, is not a lesser duty to me, to comply which i don't step back from any effrontery, like for example sending out from three to four press releases each year, or writing the free Newsletter our 500 subscribers are emailed with every month or compiling a quarterly journal on line. Whereas these last two are specialized publications, whose access originates from an act of will, the releases' issue follows only our judgment: which we manage for the benefit of papers, radio stations and web. We don't address, i mean, our informations to the ordinary mr. Jerk – it once happened by mistake and that qualified accountant rightly complained – but to the members of the prestigious media.
Perhaps the job is different in Bologna; i really can't say how you gather informations about culture and entertainment, whether you unleash a shamus or derive the news directly from Il Resto del Carlino: everybody picks his proper method to pintar su aldea, as Garcia Marquez used to say.
I still am surprised to receive this mail from your editorial staff, who kindly asks me to cut off all communications and to delete the address rcdc@radiocittadelcapo.it from our mailing list, leaving out alternatives and reasons.
If our press release n.2/2001 doesn't interest you, throw it to the waste basket. Why should we stop sending our informations?
In 1994 and in 1996, the NCT sold out for two weeks at Teatro Testoni and Arena del Sole; that's to say we can be back under your two towers very soon. In that case, with Radio Città del Capo, not even with a certificate, as our beauties say when they don't like their wooers.
We'd rather talk again with mr. Jerk.
Best regards,Jean Fajean
