The TQR first issue is on line
The first issue of The Tangueros Quarterly Review is now on line at our website. As you probably remember, TQR is a free e-magazine for the Nueva Compania Tangueros' reluctant aficionados, for the followers of Sexteto Canyengue, Trio Esquina, César Stroscio, and for those who love Tango in its many-sided expressions. The TQR n.1 consists of:
Milonga
Nacional
by Juan Luis Borges
The purloined novel by the most cultivated dancer in Buenos Aires. The
exuberant masterpiece that aroused discussions among the literary and
dancing demi-monde, who is also starring in the piece.
Jack
Schmidt, Arts Administrator
by Garrison Keillor
A shamus struggling for Arts Endowment. A tough guy the Nueva Compania
Tangueros could use.
Interview
with El Moplo
The patented
milonguero's advice to manage the current rules in the Buenos Aires
milongas.
His
Majesty Pepito by
Marco Castellani
The sketch-portrait of one of the best Tango dancer ever.
Farewell
to the fatted calf
The review
of the newest (and wonderful) CD by Sexteto Canyengue
The
readers can also submit questions regarding any aspect of Tango to Director
Jean Fajean at the section Ask Jean Fajean. He
swears he will answer to each and everyone.

New CD by Sexteto Canyengue
Tango
Maxima is
the title of this new release by Sexteto Canyengue. You can
read our review on the TQR first issue, as previously
announced. In the meanwhile, we have a hint for you: the stuff is good.
"Tango
Maxima impetuously affirms Sexteto Canyengue as one of the three best Tango
bands above (and beyond) sea level"
